- Close the specific content sinkholes: genetic crosses that ignore the question's notation, respiration and photosynthesis muddled at the ATP step, immunity answers that skip the specificity.
- Set targeted practice between sessions and mark it against the real scheme, so the student sees exactly which words earned the mark.
What you need to bring

Can I take only H2 9477 and skip O-Level?
Yes. Plenty of our tutors teach one level only. Say so when you apply and we will only send you matches in that band. H2-only tutors typically see fewer requests than tutors open to both, but the hourly rate sits higher.
Do I need to teach the practical paper?
It is preferred, and it is a real differentiator. Families whose child is losing marks on 6093 Paper 3 or H2 Paper 4 specifically ask for someone who can coach drawings, tabulation and planning. If you would rather stay on theory only, tell us and we will match accordingly.
How much do I have to prepare between sessions?
The heaviest lifting in Biology tutoring is marking. Reading a student's structured answers against the scheme and annotating where each mark was won or lost takes time, and it is the part that produces the improvement. Most tutors build a bank of past-paper answers and model responses over their first few months.
The student knows the content but still scores badly. What do I do?
That is the most common brief we send you, and it is why the role exists. It is almost always a technique problem — vague verbs instead of causal links, ignoring the mark allocation, describing when asked to explain. Diagnose from their actual scripts rather than from another round of content revision.
Do you cover lower secondary or IP Biology too?
